This building had not been used for about 20 years and had never been lived in. I liaised with the Planning Authority to agree a solution that not only retains as much as possible of the original building but also transforms the internal space into an exciting home. The project has a slate roof and has purpose made timber windows to blend with the listed buildings next door in the conservation area. With the main living space upstairs the high ceiling has been utilised and also the windows give good views and light. The house has approximately 50% more insulation than required for Building Regulations in the roof and some other areas which helps to make it comfortable in winter (also leading to lower fuel bills) and less susceptible to overheating in the summer.
